Sloppy Joes

This is a basic American classic, but of course done veggie. It's about as a staple for dinner (or tea) as sausage and mash, but of course sweeter. Americans love sugar! Since it's made with Quorn mince, a little sugar won't make it terribly unhealthy.

Ingredients:

1package of Quorn Mince (or a pound of ground beef if you must)
2 large onions, chopped (about 1/2 cup to a cup of onion) I use the sweet purple
1 large green bell pepper seeded and cut up or frozen
1 teaspoon of garlic powder or 1 clove mashed
1 teaspoon of mustard, American yellow of course!
3 teaspoons of light brown sugar (Dark if you prefer sweeter)
3/4 cup of ketchup
Sea Salt (its better for you) and pepper to taste

And a pack of hamburger buns to eat them on

Directions:

In a large skillet, fry the onions and green pepper in a little veggie oil until soft. Add in the mince and brown. Be careful not to stir it too much as mince tends to loose its shape and texture. Make sure it is heated all the way through. Stir in garlic, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper.

Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until its good and hot. Serve on a hamburger bun just like a burger with some fries (that's chips for you Brits). Word of caution, it isn't called sloppy for nothing.
